Home & Garden Party® passes blessings along to others

MARSHALL, Texas -- For a company founded on Christian principles, it’s only natural to want to give back to the community and to people in need. In March 2005, co-founders Penny and Steve Carlile presented a check for $84,925 to the American Cancer Society on behalf of Home & Garden Party’s independent Designers, hostesses and customers. During a special promotion, every “Have a Heart” jar candle sold generated a $1 donation to the American Cancer Society. The funds will help pay for college scholarships and needed transportation to and from treatments for cancer patients. The latest donation makes Home & Garden Party one of the American Cancer Society’s top donors, with more than $500,000 in donations over the last four years.

Home & Garden Party looks close to home, too, for ways to make a difference. Marshall, Texas is home for the corporate headquarters and about 300 employees. The company’s giving spirit has made Home & Garden Party the largest single donor in the county to the United Way, Boys and Girls Clubs, the Humane Society, and Stewart Regional Blood Services with four blood drives per year. In addition, the company makes generous gifts to the Marshall Regional Arts Council, Marshall Symphony Society, ARC of Harrison County, Habitat for Humanity, Buckner Children & Family Services, the Empty Stocking Fund, and the Marshall Food Pantry.
